The New 360 Snapshot

Secondlife has introducted their 360 Snapshot Tool and I’m here for it!

So recently SL introduced their 360 snapshot feature which takes a 3-dimensional interactive image that covers 360 degrees in every direction and it’s actually something to get excited about! Now you can instantly create a professional 360 snapshot that looks, well, pretty sophisticated. Easy to create, your snapshot quality and the speed the software needs to create it, depend only on the power of your computer, and even at the lowest end, you get some pretty decent results. I’ve made one of my home so you can see what’s possible. My 360 is a pretty standard, let’s see how this thing works 360 and I think it came out okay. Seriously, imagine using this tool for your land/virtual estate business, or maybe a memorable event. It could add a whole other

dimension to your virtual life. Especially if it’s for advertising or showing others how fabulous the virtual world really is. In my opinion, this might be a game-changer. As you can see mine is a bit out of focus but it still has that sense of depth and dimension and for some reason, it looks even better on social media sites. You’ll need to install the 360 viewer (link below) to access the 360 tool. The inworld tool itself is easy to use once installed. When you open up your snapshot you’ll see “create a 360 snapshot” on the lower right-hand side of the box Click it and the 360 screen opens. You then make two choices, low or high quality, and show or don’t show your avi in the picture. Click the Create button. Done! All in all, this is a fantastic addition to SL. WHOOP!

Also, you’ll need a special viewer that includes the 360 tool (eventually it will come built-in standard I imagine) and you can download it here. Second Life Project 360 Capture
